SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Remove the cylinder head. See the Cylinder Head topic for more information.
Lift the cylinder up and off of the studs. If you have trouble gently tap the reinforced areas of the cylinder to free it from the crankcase. Guide the cam chain through its opening in the cylinder if it is still installed. Make sure the cam chain doesn't fall into the crankcase.
Install the cylinder head. See the Cylinder Head topic.
