Remove the crankshaft.
Slide the connecting rod to one side and check its side clearance with a feeler gauge.

Lay the crankshaft on a pair of V blocks (1) and use a dial indicator (2) with a magnetic base to check the amount of crankshaft runout. Compare your measurement with specification...
