Emissions

 

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

 

Air Injection System

 

Some models are equipped with an air injection emissions system

 

Remove the fuel tank. See the Fuel Tank topic for more information.

 

 

Remove the exhaust system. See the Exhaust System topic for more information.

 

Free the air injection hoses from the stays on the side of the frame.

 

 

Remove the air injection flange nuts with a 10 mm socket.

 

Free the flanges from the cylinders.

 

EVAP System

 

The EVAP system can be found on California models (E-33).

 

 

The EVAP canister is mounted on the left side of the frame. The surge hose and fuel vapor hose end of the canister is the forward end. The canister air vent points to the rear.

 

The vacuum control valves are mounted under the battery holder. The vacuum fitting of the control valves faces to the rear.
